Importing an animal into the CNMI can be overwhelming, but we are here to help!

Please read the following information. If you have any questions, reach out to us at or (670) 256-3319.

For Cat or Dog Import from the USA

Regulations are strict due to our efforts to prevent rabies from entering the CNMI. The requirements are listed below.

  1. Rabies Vaccination: At least two rabies vaccinations given in the pet’s lifetime. We will need official rabies certificates signed by a veterinarian for at least two different rabies vaccinations.
  2. Rabies FAVN Titer: This is the blood test which proves rabies immunity. We recommend doing this after completing at least two rabies vaccinations in the lifetime of your pet. The blood will be submitted to a national testing lab by your veterinarian.
  3. Other Vaccinations: For dogs, DHLPP and Bordetella must be current. For cats, FVRCP must be current.
  4. Parasites: Written attestation of treatment for internal and external parasites by your veterinarian within 14 days of travel is required. This can be done by administering dewormer and providing flea/tick medication.
    • Note: We strongly suggest oral flea/tick medication such as Bravecto or Simparica for dogs.

Submit the above requirements at least 14 days prior to the anticipated arrival date to allow our staff time to review the documents and advise if needed. The health certificate can be submitted separately when acquired.

Entry Permit Payment

Entry permits are only valid for 60 days.

The final step will be to obtain a health certificate within 10 days of travel from your veterinarian. This document is required by the airline and states that your pet is healthy enough to fly and free from parasites. Please send us a copy of this, as well!
